The Bible isn’t a scientific book, but nothing in the Bible contradicts what science has discovered about the way the universe came into existence or how it operates.
If anything, science has had to change the way it explains the natural phenomena in our world. For example, until about 500 years ago, scientists thought the earth was flat. If only they had read the Bible, because 2700 years ago the prophet Isaiah wrote that the earth is a sphere. You can look it up in Isaiah 40:22. Or how about this: Until a few hundred years ago, science believed that all stars were the same. Well, the apostle Paul wrote in the first century that all stars are different (see 1 Cor. 15:41).
Here’s one more that really gets us excited. Until the 1990s, most scientists believed that the universe didn’t have a definite beginning. The general theory was that the universe always existed. Clearly this contradicted Genesis 1:1. Then, in 1992 a satellite called the Cosmic Background Explore (COBE for short), collected data that proved the universe began with a single explosion of pure energy.
As you can see, at various times in history, the Bible has appeared to contradict science, but only because science had not yet discovered the truth about the way the universe works. But God knows, because He created the heavens and the earth, and He wrote the Bible.
Wow. This is great! I will definitly use this as an evangelism tool. Thank you for looking up the scritptures too, that will really help.

Great answers…simple & concise. Especially with the Creation Museum just opening this summer and the “scientific absurdity” label flying around concerning it…this is fantastic. Thanks!
