Adversity
God will wither protect you from hardships or give you the strength to go through them. Either way, you’re covered.
People with a naive view of God often think that He will insulate their life from hardshipos. if that were true, then everyone in the world would turn to God. But He doesn’t choose to be everyone’s good luck charm. He wants their love without any form of bribery. So, as long as we live in this world, God doesn’t exempt us from the natural consequences of life. This means that you don’t have a “Get Out of Jail Free” card that allows you to skp calamaties and misfortune.
But God hasn’t left you stranded and helpless. He has given you the Holy Spirit to be His special presence in your life. Consequently, you have all of the spiritual and emotional strength you will need to handle the adversities that life brings your way.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

You are so right about God ‘letting things happen’ in our lives, and it’s VERY hard to remember what you just said about it. I’ve had many bumps & bruises from this life of mine, from three marriages to three misscarriages, odd coincidense, but anyway, somehow through the strength and grace of God I have made it through and am currently trying to make it through one right now in my current marriage. And I’ve made up my mind this time to just ’stick it out’ and try my best to let God ‘work it out’ whichever way it goes….I have tried so hard to love my husband, but, he has so many problems that nothing seems to ever help, and now that I’m a senior I’m just too tired to worry about it anymore, and I’m just to old to care about starting over again, just keep me in your prayers please.
Thank you, Barb B
What is a correct way of waiting and finding our Mr/Ms Right? Nowadays, the society pushes young people, esp young girls to get married soon after graduation, let’s say it is normally better to get married before 25 or 28. Or they, so-called ‘the residuary ones’, will be outdated. I am always waiting for the Right one, not the one to make do with merely for vacancy. However, the cultural pressure is so hard. I do long for the blessed marriage while there seems no possibility around in my current daily life. What should I do? Would you plz focus some topics on that? Thank you!
No, we are mot insulated or immune to the woes and sorrows of this world because we are Christians…but we have what the world does not have, and that is the promise that God will give us what we need to get through it all, and will go through it with us. IF we allow Him to do that. We live in a fallen world, but we have the promises of God that He will never forsake us and has a beautiful new home awaiting us in heaven for eternity, if we will just follow Him and accept His free Gift of Salvation. The sorrows and troubles we face now in this short life cannot compare to the riches and joy that await us in heaven for our eternal life, as we live together in the blessed presence of our Creator. We have much to be thankful for…we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. Praise God!
