Anger

Keep your anger under control so it doesn’t control you.

There are two kinds of anger. There is righteous anger that comes out of a godly response to sin. This is the kind of anger that God displays because sin is such an offense to Him. Jesus showed righteous anger when He chased the money changers out of the Temple (Matt. 21:12-13). Righteous anger is not a reaction to a personal offense, and God always controls it.

The second kind of anger is “personal anger.” Losing your temper is personal anger. This is the type of anger that controls you. You say or do something you later regret. God is nowhere to be found in this type of anger. That’s why the Bible warns against it.

Don’t let your personal anger take control of your life.

Stop your anger! Turn from your rage!
