Responding to God
When God speaks, listen; when God commands, obey; when God leads, follow.
Think about this. God loves us, and He knows what is best for us, so He wants us to follow His precepts. But He won’t force us to do so. He could have made us like robots who would automatically follow His directions. But He didn’t. God gave us a free will, and we can decide for ourselves whether or not we will obey His commandments and follow His divine principles.
You shouldn’t have to pop a cranial corpuscle to decide whether you should follow God’s plan for your life. Let’s see…He knows everything (that’s a good start), He loves you (for He’s got your best interest in mind), and He is wholly holy (so there is no risk of Him being devious with His advice). Those seem like pretty good credentials, don’t they?
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse, because it is build on rock.”
Matthew 7:24-25
