Like a Mirror

When you ask God to change you, He will make you more like Him.

Every person is born with God’s imprint (Gen. 1:27), but every person is also born with sin’s imprint (Romans 3:23). Those two imprints aren’t equal, but sin obstructs our view of God and our longing for Him (think of a dark cloud blocking the sun). God is much more powerful than our sins, but He won’t take them away until we ask Him to (1 John 1:9).

Then and only then can the Spirit of God begin His work in our lives, which is to completely transform us and turn us into people who represent our heavenly Father here on Earth. If it all sounds very mystical, there’s a reason.. It’s a mystical process! But it isn’t fairy tale stuff. This is completely real. As God builds His character into ours through the Holy Spirit, we become like mirrors reflecting His imprint and His glory, which others can clearly see.

As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.
