Crisis

The best way to minimize a crisis is to compare it to your blessings.

You want a tranquil life, but you don’t always get what you want. At some unexpected time, you’ll be hit by a crisis. It might be severe financial reverses or sickness. It may be rebellious children or a fractured marriage. You may have no control over the events, but you can choose your responses.

Consider that your crisis can be an opportunity to grow closer to God. Perhaps you have been ignoring Him in “the good times.” (While you might never admit this, your actions might indicate otherwise.) When the money runs out, or your health is in jeopardy, or the children are in trouble, you can turn to God and He will be there. No appointment is necessary. You don’t have to take a number. And you won’t get stuck with His voice mail. It won’t remain a crisis if God is in charge.

Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, bu they sing as they return with the harvest.
