Cheerfulness

A pleasant expression increases your face value. If society has a poor impression of Christians, it is no one’s fault but our own. We aren’t always a happy bunch. We spend too much time being critical, and far too little time being cheerful. Many of us walk around with an expression that looks like we have been sucking on a sour pickle.

When you think about it, the people who are in love with God should be the happiest people on Earth. We have God on our side to help us through each day, and we know that our future includes an eterntiy with Him in heaven.

You have the knowledge of God in your mind, and you have the love of God in your heart. Make sure your face knows about it.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

Proverbs 17:22

    Dear brothers Bruce an Stan,

I’m a Brazilian christian. I praise the Lord for your life and ministry. I’ve purchased your book God is in the small stuff for your family and I was so blessed! I was just looking for something to help me to do my duties as a christian housewife in this world that lead us so far away from God’s ancient paths and when I saw your book on the shelf of my favorite bookstore. That moment I thought maybe there is hope for me. And now this word about cheerfulness… since I became a christian I long for being full of this joy. I ask God that people around me could see this joy in my eyes, but most of the time when I am in trouble I look sad. I wander and pray to learn the same secret Paul learned to be joyful in my union with the Lord no matter what happens to me. Thanks a lot. God bless you.
