Glorify God
Glory is something you give, not take, and the one who deserves it the most is God.
Why did God crreate us in the first place? Was it to populate and manage the earth God made? Did God create us so we could interact with each other and show love for one another? How about witnessing? Maybe God put us on this earth so we could tell others about Him.
All of these are excellent reasons, but there’s an even bigger reason why we’re here. God wants us to glorify Him.
The meaning of glory is gift, literally a gift of honor and praise. In everything we do, God wants us to glorify Him. According to the Westminster Confession of Faith, our “chief and highest end is to glorify God, and to fully enjoy Him forever.” That’s what happens when you honor God and give Him the praise He deserves. You enjoy Him forever.
Whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, you must do all for the glory of God.
