A Balanced Life

Live somewhere between complacency and crisis.Let’s think for a moment about complacency. It has both good and bad connotations. On the good side, it conveys the sense of being satisfied with what you have. (And that’s how you should be.) But complacency also suggests that you are satisfied in staying where you are. Not where in geographic terms, but in a growth and development sense.

Many people are afraid to grow spiritually because they don’t want to be stretched. They suspect that the process will involve some awkwardness or discomfort. They don’t want to do anything that might make them uncomfortable. (In other words, they are complacent.)

Don’t be afraid to let God move you along. Don’t settle for spiritual stagnation. He is fully able to uphold you in the process of spiritual growth.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1
