A true sense of humor does not rely on the humiliation of others.We all like to make people laugh. It is rewarding to bring levity into someone’s life. And the ability to make people laugh will get you invited to a lot of parties because people with a good sense of humor are fun to have around.

Unfortunately, some people try too hard to be funny. In their attempt, they go for the “cheap shot” instead of a humorous comment. There is laughter at both, but the cheap shot usually involves making fun at someone’s expense. Maybe it is a sarcastic remark about an expandaing waistline or a receding hairline.

Christians should be the happiest group of people. They should be laughing all of the time. But their jokes should never be made at the expense of someone else’s feelings.

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ as forgiven you.
