Faults
If you make an effort to overlook the little faults in others, maye they’ll do the same with your glaring flaws. It is easier to see the faults in other people. We can quickly identify the problems in someone else’s life. Maybe it’s a shrill voice or an annoying habit. Other people may lack good manners or speak with poor grammar. Some are just plain losers. Then there are those people who are critical of others (they are the worst). Aren’t you glad the rest of us are so perfect?
We hope you detected a note of sarcasm in the last paragraph. (More than a note, it was a whole tune.) Yes, you can always find faults with other people. Nobody is perfect. But if you are interested in honing your critical skills, you should start with yourself. Don’t move on to others until you have completely identified all of your shortcomings and corrected each of them. (That should keep you busy for a lifetime.)
“How can you think of saying, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”
Matthew 7:4-5
I love this verse as it had made me step back from myself in all aspects, mentally, spiritually, etc, and take a good long look at my self as a child of God and as a person in general..I had to learn to work on my own “cluttered attic” and clean it out and stop trying to clean out others attic’s..And as I have removed the “log” from my “eye” ,God showed me that others weren’t as bad as I “assumed” or thought they were.I work daily on MY attitude and thoughts and work on renewing my mind as THE WORD tells us and I have recieved many Blessings.Criticizing someone hurts them and you.I have learned to take one positive thing in a person I may or may not have put down in my life and build on that. My family has seen a great change in me and in turn God has worked in their hearts to make changes in their lives. No one is perfect and we don’t have the right to Judge others but I have learned that GOD don’t count how many times we fall down, only how many times we get up.
