Spend more of your time and energy investing in people than you do investing in things.A good investment is determined by the safety of your capital and the rate of return. If you are going to put your money into something, you want to make sure that it won’t be lost and that you will be paid a good dividend.

These same principles apply to the investment of your time and energy. Don’t waste your valuable time with frivolous endeavors. Put your effort where it will count and pay off. You may receive the best return on your investment when you put time into other people. You can invest in them through acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. You aren’t likely to see monetary returns on your investment, but you are guaranteed spiritual rewards because your good deeds honor God Himself.

Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
