Here are additional questions for your individual or group study.  The chapters below correspond to the chapters in Knowing God 101.

Chapter 1

• What influence has the Bible had on our culture? Give one example from each of these areas:
• Art

• Literature
• What influence has the Bible had on the moral and ethical formation of our culture?  What happens when the culture abandons its biblical roots?
• How do fulfilled prophecies relate to the Bibles reliability?

Chapter 2

• Even if you believed in God before reading this chapter, how did the information add to your belief?
• If a child were to ask you to explain God, what would you say?
• How can an infinite God relate to you, a finite person?

Chapter 3

• Does it bother you that the Trinity is so difficult to understand? Why is it important to do your best to know the Trinity?
• What would you tell someone who believes the Trinity is wrong?
• Explain why the Trinity matters.

Chapter 4

• What are three benefits that angels provide for you?
• What are three things Satan and his demons are doing to oppose you?
• What would you tell someone who was blaming all his troubles on Satan?
• What would you tell a Christian who took Satan and the spirit world too lightly?

Chapter 5

• Why is the who of creation more important than the when?  Why is it detrimental to the Christian cause for Christians to argue (rather than disagree) about the when?
• Does the concept of the Big Bang make sense without God? Why or why not?
• Give three reasons why you believe God created the universe.

Chapter 6

• Describe your heart.
• Describe your soul.
• Describe your mind.
• Describe your will.
• In what ways are you unique among all the created beings?
• What would you say to someone who believes that humans do not have a free will?

Chapter 7

• Explain the “double death penalty.”
• What is the difference between your sin nature and your sin debt?
• Explain why we are guilty of sin apart from our inherited sin nature.

Chapter 8

• Give three reasons why you believe Jesus was God.
• Give three reasons why you believe Jesus was a man.
• What kind of influence has Jesus had in our culture? Give three examples.

Chapter 9

• Explain why you agree or disagree with this statement: How good you are has nothing to do with whether or not you go to heaven.
• What would you say if you were to stand before God tomorrow and He were to ask you, “Why should I let you into my heaven?”

Chapter 10

• Give two reasons why you believe the Holy Spirit is God.
• How did you view the Holy Spirit before reading this chapter?  How did your understanding change?
• How much does it hurt a believer to be ignorant of the Holy Spirit?
• Describe a time in your life when you were very aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life.

• Why should the second coming of Jesus Christ be your greatest hope?
• List three differences between the first coming and the second coming of Jesus?
• Why are believers reluctant to talk to unbelievers about God’s judgment? Why do we do others a disservice when we don’t make them aware of God’s coming judgment?

Chapter 12

• What does it mean to walk in the Spirit?
• What does it mean to walk in truth?
• What does it mean to walk in faith?
• What practical things can you do to grow in your love and reverence for God?
• What practical things can you do to appreciate worship more?
• What practical things can you do to pray more effectively?
• What practical things can you do to have a greater appetite for God’s Word?
